Forty-seven new Verdant councillors took their seats this week, after a local election night the party is calling its strongest in two decades.

Verdant now holds 859 council seats across England, Scotland and Wales — the highest number in our 36-year history. The largest gains came in the South West, where the party became the second-largest group on Bristol City Council, and in the North East, where Greens took control of two parish councils outright.
