AI Usage Policy

Verdant uses artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency in campaign communications, content drafting, and data analysis. This policy governs how those tools are used.

Operational rules

1. No personal data of members, supporters, or the public is ever passed to AI tools without prior anonymisation.
2. All AI-generated content is reviewed by a human before publication.
3. AI tools used for campaign materials are disclosed in candidate materials where required.
4. Named tools: Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI) — both under commercial terms with DPA in place.
5. Free-tier AI tools are not used for any party data.
6. AI is not used for automated decision-making about individuals.
7. Staff are trained on responsible AI use annually.

Transparency

We believe in transparent use of AI. Where AI has materially contributed to a published policy document or article, a disclosure note is added. Automated content generation for electoral materials is prohibited under this policy.
