Modern Slavery Statement
This statement is made voluntarily pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Verdant is a political party with a small central staff team, volunteers, and elected representatives. We do not meet the £36m turnover threshold for mandatory reporting but publish this statement as part of our commitment to transparency and ethical practice.
Our structure
Verdant's operations are UK-based. Our supply chain includes printing, digital services, office supplies, and campaign materials — all sourced from UK suppliers. We do not manufacture goods or use third-party labour agencies.
Our policies
We have zero tolerance for modern slavery and human trafficking. Our supplier code of conduct requires all suppliers to comply with the MSA 2015. We include modern slavery clauses in all significant contracts.
Due diligence
We assess suppliers for modern slavery risk at onboarding. High-risk categories (printing, merchandise) receive enhanced due diligence including written declarations.
Training
Staff involved in procurement receive annual training on modern slavery awareness. Board-level review of this statement occurs annually.
