How do I join Verdant?
Head to our Get Involved page. Membership starts at £3 a month, or £1.50 if that's too much. We never check, and we never ask.
How are donations spent?
72% goes to candidate campaigns, 18% to local parties, 7% to staff and overheads, and 3% to compliance. Published annually. See our Transparency page for the full breakdown.
Is Verdant the same as the Green Party?
Yes — Verdant is the brand name for the Green Party of England and Wales' digital presence. We are the same party, same constitution, same members.
Can I stand as a candidate?
Yes. Any member of two years can apply. Selection for 2029 begins in autumn 2026. Training and mentorship provided.
Do you accept corporate donations?
No. Verdant accepts donations only from UK individuals. No corporate money, no foreign donations. We publish every donation over £500.
How do I volunteer?
From 5 minutes (phone banking at home) to 5 hours (door knocking on Saturdays). See our Get Involved page for options.
Where does the name Verdant come from?
Verdant means green with grass or rich vegetation. It reflects our commitment to a liveable planet and a country that looks after its people.
How many members do you have?
Over 75,000 members as of May 2026 — the highest in our history and growing every day.
What is your position on proportional representation?
We support a proportional voting system for all UK elections. We believe every vote should count equally.
