Code of Conduct
Verdant is committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability. This code applies to all elected representatives, staff, volunteers, and members acting on behalf of the party.
Ethical standards
All representatives must act in the public interest, avoid conflicts of interest, and declare any gifts or hospitality over £50. No representative may accept payment or benefit in exchange for influencing policy or decisions.
Anti-bribery
Verdant prohibits bribery and corruption in all forms. No offer, payment, or acceptance of bribes is tolerated. All staff and representatives receive anti-bribery training annually.
Whistleblowing
Anyone with genuine concerns about wrongdoing within the party may report them confidentially to whistleblowing@verdant.party. Reports are investigated independently. The party prohibits retaliation against whistleblowers.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
Verdant is committed to being an inclusive organisation. Discrimination, harassment, or bullying on any grounds — including race, gender, sexuality, disability, age, religion, or class — is not tolerated.
Social media
Representatives and staff must maintain professional standards on social media. Personal accounts should clearly distinguish personal views from party positions. Harassment, abuse, or disinformation is prohibited.
Reporting
Breaches of this code should be reported to the party's compliance team at compliance@verdant.party. All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly.
